Columbia 4th Friday: Raven Ridge Water Fowl

June 28 @ 5:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Tracie Young, the Raven Ridge Wildlife Center rehabber and founder will discuss lead poisoning in waterfowl and birds of prey, what wildlife rehabilitators do for waterfowl in need, and what the public can do to help.

She will be accompanied by Phoenix the Peregrine Falcon was found on Brunner Island near the Susquehanna River. He initially fledged unsuccessfully and was brought to us. He was then re-nested, and fledged unsuccessfully again. He had a severe problem/injury with his eye. He was brought back to us and we worked with him for several months. He never was able to fly properly and was deemed non-releasable. He is our newest ambassador, a fan favorite at our programs, and really enjoys his meals of quail!
